The end of the island is a mass of holes about to be filled in with luxury apartment towers. The old warehouses and car repair shops are gone. The view across to the Zeeburgereiland is pretty. It is quiet, the air is like that of a fishing village. All of this will be unrecognizable in two years. Even across the water on the island there will be towers.
